Southern Land Company is currently seeking a full-time Concierge to join its team at Carlow Wind Watch, a premier residential community located in Hauppauge, NY within the prestigious Wind Watch Golf and Country Club. This hourly position offers competitive pay ranging from $23 to $25 per hour, commensurate with experience. The Concierge role is pivotal, serving as the welcoming first point of contact for residents and visitors and playing an essential role in cultivating an exceptional living environment. This position requires a highly organized and communicative individual with impeccable attention to detail and a proactive, independent work ethic.

In this dynamic role, the Concierge delivers superior customer service daily, adapting to unique scenarios that demand prioritization, multitasking, creative problem-solving, and initiative. The Concierge is responsible for creating a positive atmosphere through warm, professional interactions, efficiently resolving resident concerns, and ensuring everyone feels valued within the community. Core responsibilities span a wide spectrum, from managing guest satisfaction and coordinating transportation and entertainment arrangements, to facilitating pet and babysitting services, flower deliveries, dining reservations, and more.

Carlow Wind Watch comprises two residential buildings featuring 150 residences with one, two, and three-bedroom options complemented by a wealth of upscale amenities designed to enhance resident lifestyle. These amenities include a beautifully appointed lobby staffed with full-time concierge services, a resort-style heated pool with spa, an outdoor dining area with gas grills, a resident clubroom, coworking spaces, fitness center, yoga studio, and numerous other offerings that contribute to an enriching, vibrant community experience. The Concierge’s role is vital in supporting the upkeep and enjoyment of these facilities, helping to create a welcoming and cohesive community atmosphere.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2 years of experience in customer service, sales, and/or hospitality experience that demonstrates sufficient background to resolve resident complaints
  • Prior experience in front desk support preferred
  • Prior concierge and/or event planning experience preferred
  • Fair Housing training (we can provide)
  • YardI property management software experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to keep sensitive information highly confidential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong and pleasant telephone and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal professionally with clients, vendors, and co-workers on the phone and in person
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, and carry multiple projects through to completion
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints, as well as the ability to deal with frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

Job Duties

  • Deliver an exceptional experience to every person, beginning with an unmatched first impression and building rapport with other associates, guests, and current residents
  • Maintain and uphold a high standard for community curb appeal by conducting routine inspections of all community amenities and common areas and working with the service team or other associates to ensure that all areas are well-maintained
  • Coordinate maintenance of office and amenity equipment including copiers, printers, resident business centers, fitness equipment, and resident clubhouse amenities
  • Receive deliveries by accepting and logging packages for residents
  • Provide leasing support and assistance to the leasing team by making initial contact with future residents, setting appointments, assisting with key pick-ups, and any other tasks related to the move-in and move-out process
  • Act as a liaison between residents and service team members regarding both routine and emergency maintenance requests and provide assistance in the follow-up process after work is completed on routine requests
  • Plan fun activities that help build a strong sense of belonging among residents
