Job Description

The Raising Cane's River Center, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a premier multi-purpose event venue that serves as a hub for entertainment, conventions, banquets and community gatherings. We are currently seeking enthusiastic, dedicated individuals for immediate openings within our Food and Beverage Department as Concessions and Catering Supervisors. This is a flexible part-time position based in Baton Rouge, ideal for candidates who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high hospitality standards in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. As a Concessions and Catering Supervisor, you will hold a pivotal supervisory role responsible for overseeing all banquet and concessions operations. This includes managing coffee breaks, buffet setups, plated meals, reception events, and concessions stands, ensuring seamless execution and service quality in every aspect.

This role demands strong leadership skills to train and guide catering servers, cashiers, and bartenders effectively, maintaining a team that consistently meets or exceeds service expectations. Supervisors will be involved in maintaining equipment cleanliness and scheduling annual maintenance to uphold operational efficiency. Upholding health and safety standards is a critical component, with responsibilities including assisting the Food & Beverage Department in sustaining a Health Department score of 90 or above.

Additionally, supervisors will contribute creatively to the design and presentation of buffet arrangements and coffee break decor to enhance event aesthetics. Accurate financial reporting and inventory management are essential duties, requiring close coordination with party personnel, such as concessions workers, bartenders, cashiers, and runners, to ensure adequate inventory levels and impeccable control procedures. Interaction with clients, customers, and co-workers must always reflect professionalism and courtesy, fostering a positive environment.

The role also enforces adherence to the SMG Food and Beverage Division protocols and the Savor Safe Alcohol Management Program, emphasizing safety, security, and sanitation within all food and beverage service areas. Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of all these operational aspects to effectively manage day-to-day functions and respond proactively to challenges. Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned to support departmental goals and organizational initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • willing to obtain a City Parish Responsible Server Bar Card within 30 days of employment
  • able to pass a credit background and reference check
  • preferred 1-year verifiable cash handling experience
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to walk stoop climb stairs lift up to 30 pounds and stand for the duration of the shift

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Train catering servers cashiers and bartenders
  • fulfill services detailed per each Banquet Event Orders and Concessions Event Orders
  • assist in maintaining all equipment cleanliness and conducting annual maintenance
  • assist in the Food and Beverage Department in maintaining a Health Department score of 90 or higher
  • assist in the creation and design of buffets and coffee break decor
  • ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Money Room and its agents
  • coordinate with concessions workers bartenders cashiers and runners to maintain adequate inventory levels for proper and uninterrupted concessions and bar service
