Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in food services and facilities management, dedicated to creating a better everyday life for people around the world. With operations spanning across multiple sectors including corporate, healthcare, education, and sports and leisure, Sodexo is committed to delivering exceptional service and integrated solutions that enhance quality of life and improve the communities they serve. The company’s extensive experience and holistic approach ensure clients benefit from tailored services that meet their unique needs while fostering sustainability and social progress. Sodexo values diversity, inclusion, and respect, creating a workplace environment where everyone can thrive and be themselves. Their commitment to equal employment opportunities and fair treatment underscores a corporate culture that supports employee growth and well-being.

The Concessions Supervisor role at Sodexo, based at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, is a part-time position offering hourly pay between $21.63 and $29.19. This role is ideal for leaders who thrive in fast-paced, event-driven environments and have a passion for guest service excellence. The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of concession stands, kiosks, portable locations, and autonomous retail formats during events to guarantee smooth, efficient, and safe food service experiences.

As a key on-site leader, the Concessions Supervisor manages team staffing, workflow, inventory awareness, and service standards while acting as the essential liaison between frontline employees and unit management. This role demands adaptability due to varying event types, venue sizes, and operational models, requiring the supervisor to adjust staffing and processes accordingly. The supervisor conducts pre-event briefings to set clear expectations about menus, service delivery, and assignments and is proactive in addressing and escalating guest concerns to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Physical demands include the ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds, reflecting the hands-on nature of the job. The role also includes training and onboarding new staff members, fostering a knowledgeable and confident concession team. Sodexo supports its employees by offering ongoing training, opportunities for advancement, and a flexible work environment that values work-life balance.

This position is perfect for food service professionals who have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in concessions or event-based operations and preferably prior supervisory or leadership experience. Candidates must comply with regulatory requirements related to alcohol sales and food handling, including holding relevant certifications such as TIPS or TEAM, and possibly a food handler certificate depending on state regulations.

By joining Sodexo as a Concessions Supervisor, candidates become part of a company devoted to excellence, community impact, and employee development. The role not only offers competitive pay but also a comprehensive benefits package to support employees and their families, including health, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans. Sodexo’s dedication to culture and belonging ensures a respectful and inclusive workplace where every team member’s contributions are valued.
