The position open at Legends Global is the Concessions Manager role responsible for overseeing concessions operations within the arena facility. This full-time position is integral in managing multiple concession stands and portable food service locations, ensuring seamless food preparation and service that align with the brand's reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. The role encompasses comprehensive inventory control, focusing on production demand to optimize stock levels and minimize waste. The Concessions Manager leads a dedicated team, managing all facets of staffing including hiring, scheduling, and training to maintain a competent and motivated workforce.

In this role, the manager directs food storage, preparation, and retail product serving, guaranteeing compliance with health, safety, and ABC regulations. Collaboration with the Warehouse Manager is required to purchase concessions products that anticipate customer preferences and demand, while working closely with the Director to determine menu offerings and pricing strategies. The role also involves premium service provision and backstage catering at the Capitol Federal Amphitheater, highlighting the catering aspect as a key responsibility.

The Concessions Manager must manage financial responsibilities including receipt tabulation, account balancing, and monthly cash handling activities such as petty cash and vault reconciliation. Supervisory duties include direct oversight of all concessions employees adhering to company policies and employment laws, involving performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and employee development. Flexibility is critical as the position demands working extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.

Candidates must possess strong cost control capabilities, revenue generation experience, and financial acumen to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting. Strong communication skills are essential for fostering positive customer experiences and effective team management. Experience with relevant technology including Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook), Point of Sale software (preferably Clover Sport), and workforce management systems such as ABIMM is highly valued.

Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, use hands/arms effectively, and lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be able to pass background and credit checks and hold or be willing to obtain ServSafe certifications in Manager, Alcohol, and Allergen handling.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university desired
  • 1 to 2 years' related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
  • previous management experience in a similar venue
  • experience with Excel, Word and Outlook Microsoft 365 preferred
  • experience with POS software used in food and beverage, preferably Clover Sport
  • experience with recruiting software and timekeeping software, ABIMM preferred
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
  • ServSafe Alcohol Certification
  • ServSafe Allergen Certification

Job Duties

  • Supervise concessions employees in the preparation and service of food and refreshments, as well as clean-up
  • assist in the training of concessions employees engaged in preparing and cooking food to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service
  • create a positive customer experience and maintain a pleasant attitude when working with staff and customers
  • work with Warehouse Manager to purchase concessions product according to anticipated demand and public taste
  • work with Director to determine the menu and price
  • direct food storage, preparation, and serving of retail products by workers at concession stands
  • assign concessions workers to locations
  • tabulate receipts and balance accounts, and generate reports for Finance as needed
  • inventory all products located in concession stands at designated periods
  • comply with guidelines for food and labor costs
  • comply with Corporate initiatives, Health Department and ABC regulations
  • schedule team using ABIMM for events and day work as needed
  • provide premium services and backstage catering to Capitol Federal Amphitheater
  • staff and manage team working at Capitol Federal Amphitheater for events and catering in the Lodge
  • oversee all NPO groups including scheduling, time keeping, Payroll, and NPO contract management
  • complete monthly cash handling procedures including reconciling petty cash and vault reconciliation
  • work extended and irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • maintain regular attendance and work at all Legends Global facilities in Wichita and Andover
  • perform other duties as assigned
