The Concessions Event Manager at BYU holds a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the concessions operations for Olympic sports, special athletic events, and numerous university events. This position ensures the successful planning, execution, and financial accountability of concession services, staffing, and administrative duties. The manager supervises labor administration, billing, vendor relations, and non-profit organization partnerships to maintain smooth and efficient concession operations. As a part of a three-person administrative leadership team alongside the General Manager and Operations Manager, the Concessions Event Manager contributes to strategic planning and oversees operational execution across multiple events. Key responsibilities include labor and office management, event coordination, billing processes, and vendor and technology relations. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide staff and volunteers, ensure exceptional guest service, and coordinate with athletics, facilities, and university departments to maintain consistency and excellence in concession services. The manager also plays a crucial role in handling financial reporting, compliance, and training initiatives to support continuous improvement and cost control. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range from $64,500 to $84,500, depending on experience, and includes excellent benefits such as retirement plans, paid time off, health coverage, tuition benefits, and wellness programs. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in concessions, event management, hospitality, office administration, or operations support
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work including lifting 20-50 lbs
  • Willingness to work in variable environmental conditions and occasionally in freezers
  • Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment
  • Completion of a physical exam and lift test as part of the hiring process
  • Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and holding a current temple recommend preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in concessions, event management, hospitality, office administration, or operations support
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • Experience in collegiate athletics or large-event concessions preferred
  • Skilled in labor scheduling and administrative event operations
  • Knowledgeable in billing, payroll coordination, and financial reconciliation
  • Experience working with volunteer or non-profit organizations
  • Familiarity with Eatec, Workday, or related operational systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Job Duties

  • Lead planning and execution of concessions operations for Olympic sports and special events
  • Coordinate event timelines, operational support, labor scheduling, menu planning, and concession readiness
  • Ensure operational consistency, strong guest service, and financial accountability
  • Support major event operations including football, basketball, and other large-scale university events
  • Oversee labor and office staffing operations including recruitment, scheduling, and payroll coordination
  • Manage non-profit organization partnerships, scheduling, training, and compliance
  • Handle concession billing, invoicing, financial tracking, and month-end reconciliation
  • Serve as liaison for event technology coordination, POS support, and vendor communication
  • Assist in training initiatives related to customer service, cash handling, and food safety
  • Analyze labor and sales data to drive continuous operational improvement
