The Concessions Cook position at Camp Randall Stadium offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team that delivers high-quality food and exceptional service during UW-Madison sporting events. As a Concessions Cook, you will prepare food items following standardized recipes to ensure consistency, properly portion and present meals for service, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines. The position also involves operating and maintaining kitchen equipment safely and cooperating closely with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations during events. Additionally, you will attend safety training sessions and adhere to HACCP guidelines to uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

This position offers a competitive pay range of $18 to $22 per hour and begins in May, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and event-driven food service environments. Certification such as ServSafe Food Handler and Alcohol Safety is required or must be obtained, providing further professional development. Physical stamina is essential due to the demands of working on your feet for extended periods and handling food items, with an ability to lift 20-40 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
  • must be willing to obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Safety Certification
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift 20-40 pounds
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous culinary experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate
  • must have or be willing to complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Safety Certification

  • availability to work all UW-Madison football games and a majority of events at the Kohl Center Arena

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items based on standardized recipes to meet production schedules and ensure proper delivery times
  • serve meals or prepare items for delivery with correct portion sizes ensuring food is at the right temperature and visually appealing
  • maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by cleaning work areas washing dishes and properly storing or discarding excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and well-organized ensuring all food and supplies are stored according to safety standards to minimize waste
  • operate and maintain kitchen equipment following safety and operational guidelines report any equipment malfunctions or accidents immediately to supervisors
  • work effectively with fellow team members management and customers ensuring a smooth kitchen operation during fast-paced event hours
  • follow HACCP guidelines to maintain food safety and hygiene and ensure all food items are served at the correct temperature
