Currently, Sodexo is seeking a full-time Concessions Cashier to join the team at the Raleigh Convention Center. This role offers a competitive pay range of $14.58 to $19.68 per hour and requires working varying shifts, with a preference for open availability to meet the dynamic scheduling needs of event-based concession operations. The Concessions Cashier position is pivotal within the concessions environment, supporting high-volume and fast-paced event settings by delivering prompt, accurate, and guest-oriented transaction services at concession stands, grab-and-go locations, kiosks, or autonomous retail concepts.

As a Concessions Cashier, you will operate in environments marked by fluctuating demand and large crowds, particularly during live events, where the speed and quality of service are critical. This role differs from traditional retail or food and beverage cashier positions by integrating customer service within high-energy, time-sensitive settings. You will need to maintain efficiency during peak periods, remain aware of guest flow, and adhere strictly to Sodexo’s standards concerning safety, compliance, and speed of service.

The duties of this role may vary depending on the venue layout, technology used, and specific event requirements, encompassing tasks such as securing cash and transaction devices, assisting with product stocking and rotation, and maintaining clean and organized cashier stations. Physical demands include the ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds, reflecting the active nature of the concessions environment. Reliability and punctuality are essential qualities, as timely attendance at scheduled shifts is critical to team success.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to sell alcohol based on state and/or local regulations
  • Prior concessions, retail, or customer service experience preferred
  • TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) or TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management) alcohol training or equivalent
  • Food handler certification may be required based on location

Job Duties

  • Ensure proper handling and security of cash, payment devices, and transaction systems when applicable
  • Assist with stocking, replenishment, and product rotation within concession areas as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of cashier stations, kiosks, and autonomous store areas
  • Frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Provide fast, accurate, and guest-focused transaction support in concession locations
  • Uphold Sodexo standards for speed of service, safety, and compliance
