Specifically, the role is within a concession stand environment located inside a community aquatic center. This establishment operates with a mission to provide outstanding food and beverage services in a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for patrons of all ages. The team is committed to upholding health department standards and maintaining service excellence to enhance the overall guest experience. The organization values hard work, customer service skills, and a strong sense of responsibility in its staff. The employment type for this role is part-time or seasonal, with a progressive hourly wage scale based on years of service, starting at $12.86 per hour in the first year and increasing incrementally to $13.65 per hour for attendants with four years of experience. In this role, the concession attendant is responsible for managing food and beverage orders, preparing and storing concession menu items, and maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the concession stand. The attendant must prepare food items following strict health department guidelines to ensure food safety, including proper storage and cross-contamination prevention. They are also tasked with managing inventory throughout their shift, keeping accurate records of cash and product stock, minimizing losses based on expected patron loads and external factors such as weather. Accurate cash management is a critical part of the job, requiring the attendant to verify the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts, ring sales correctly through a point-of-sale system, and reconcile cash totals with a supervisor's verification.

The concession attendant must be capable of performing all opening, shift, and closing procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing concession equipment, counters, and surrounding eating areas. This includes taking care of trash disposal and maintaining the overall presentation of the concession area to ensure a welcoming environment for guests. Workers are required to demonstrate adherence to personal hygiene policies, including wearing gloves, hairnets or hats, and other safety gear. The role also involves effective communication through daily reading of the communication log book to stay informed on new policies and procedures.

The position requires a willingness to work flexible shift schedules as assigned and the responsibility to notify supervisors or secure substitutions if unable to attend. Supervision is provided by guest services and concessions supervisors along with the recreation program manager, supporting a professional working environment. Beyond the duties and operational responsibilities, the employer offers staff incentives such as free family membership to the aquatic center, referral bonuses, end-of-season bonuses based on hours worked, and additional pay for holiday shifts.
