Job Description
The role of Concessions Lead is offered within a dynamic public park district environment that prides itself on delivering high-quality recreational experiences and exceptional customer service to the community. This park district operates various facilities including concessions stands, admissions points, and catering events, providing food and beverage services to visitors at special park events, recreational centers, and community gatherings. The district emphasizes maintaining an atmosphere of professionalism, safety, and enjoyment for guests, making the management of concession operations pivotal for customer satisfaction.
This Concessions Lead position involves providing leadership and direction to a team of concessions attendants to ensure outstanding customer service standards. As a key supervisory role, the person in this role assists the facilities supervisor by overseeing the training, placement, and daily supervision of staff. Responsibilities include managing schedules and ensuring employees are prepared and ready to fulfill their duties according to the organization’s policies. The role requires actively maintaining cash handling integrity, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and upholding the Board of Health standards for food and beverage service. Moreover, the Concessions Lead is responsible for handling cash transactions, contributing to inventory control, and serving food and alcoholic beverages following Ohio Department of Liquor Control guidelines.
The position also demands that the Concessions Lead provide exceptional customer service by engaging warmly with guests, addressing complaints, and resolving issues or escalating them appropriately. The role entails preparing, cooking, and serving food efficiently and courteously while ensuring cleanliness and organization within the serving area including kitchen, bar, and restaurant sections. One critical aspect involves enforcing safety and conduct rules among patrons and staff, fostering a safe and welcoming environment in service spaces.
In addition to operational duties, the Concessions Lead is involved in hiring duties such as screening and interviewing applicants for admissions and concessions roles, as well as recommending discipline and maintaining personnel records necessary for staff management. The incumbent must be capable of working cooperatively with employees and maintaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
Work schedule flexibility is essential, as this position requires availability for weekend and holiday shifts to meet the demands of the park district’s event calendar. This is a role ideally suited for individuals with supervisory or food service experience who enjoy leading teams and ensuring quality food and beverage operations in a public service setting. Candidates should have a fundamental knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, be comfortable operating point of sale (POS) systems, and demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and work independently with a high degree of organization and accuracy.
Overall, the Concessions Lead plays a crucial part in enhancing visitor experience through effective team leadership, operational oversight, and commitment to service excellence within a community-focused recreational environment.
