The Concession Cook role at Oak View Group involves key responsibilities in food preparation within a fast-paced concession stand environment at one of OVG’s world-class venues. This position requires the careful preparation of concession menu items using various cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, and deep-fat fryers. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the quality and production standards of all menu items while ensuring they are served fresh and at the correct temperature. Portion control, food waste reduction, and stringent sanitation practices are critical elements of the job to maintain high guest satisfaction and compliance with health standards.
This is a part-time position with an hourly wage ranging from $21.50 to $23.50, and includes eligibility for tips. The role demands excellent attendance, flexibility to work during scheduled events, and the ability to operate in a team-oriented, event-driven environment. The Concession Cook must communicate effectively with front counter staff and management, ensuring smooth and efficient operations during high-volume events. Additionally, the role requires maintaining clean and organized workstations, proper food storage, and adherence to safety and sanitation regulations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to properly use all kitchen tools and cooking equipment
- previous experience as a prep cook or line cook preferred
- ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- availability to work scheduled events including evenings and weekends
- valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
Job Qualifications
- Ability to properly use all tools needed in the kitchen
- ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
- previous experience as a prep cook or line cook preferred
- ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
Job Duties
- Responsible for cooking and packaging food products that are prepared to order or kept warm until sold
- receives verbal orders from the front counter staff for food product requirements for guest orders
- responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items
- food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests
- responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand
- responsible for cleaning, stocking, and restocking of workstations and displays
- responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and ovens
- ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away, and the floor is swept and mopped at the end of the shift
- show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
