The position of Concession Cashier at ONT Field is a part-time, non-exempt role paying $21.40 per hour, reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager. It involves delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests during event days while maintaining a friendly, professional, and welcoming demeanor. The cashier is pivotal in enhancing the guest experience by ensuring accurate point-of-sale operations, effective merchandise presentation, and adherence to company policies related to dress code, cash handling, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service. Additionally, the role requires the capacity to maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, assist with food preparation, manage inventory control, and collaborate with team members to uphold quality standards. This position requires flexibility in work hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the schedules of events. New hires must be 21 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have a valid food handler’s card and TIPS Certification, with the company supporting training costs and certification timelines. As part of a unionized workforce under a collective bargaining agreement, the role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and a strong customer service orientation to ensure that every guest’s experience is positive and memorable.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum 21 years of age
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must have basic math and cash handling experience
  • Must be flexible and responsive with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must obtain a valid food handler’s card within 30 days of hire
  • Must obtain TIPS Certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and guests
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs and stand or walk for long periods
  • Must be able to pass background check and comply with union membership
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and company policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous customer service and cash handling experience preferred
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Working knowledge of food production, purchasing, and sanitation procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Assist in maintaining, organizing and cleaning all equipment
  • Ensure attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service
  • Display all merchandising and signage properly for each event
  • Adhere to the company dress code including wearing black pants and non-slip soled closed toe shoes
  • Obtain assigned workstation at the beginning of shift
  • Greet guests warmly and professionally
  • Accurately use POS system while serving high volumes of guests
  • Follow cash handling and tip reporting guidelines
  • Expedite guest food orders in a timely manner
  • Stock products, set up condiment and cashier stations, and display baskets
  • Complete all station set-up and breakdown responsibilities
  • Practice proper product control and handling of inventory and equipment
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure food and beverage quality
  • Assist in food preparation
  • Check concessions equipment for proper use
  • Execute responsible alcohol service
  • Maintain proper sanitation and food safety
  • Navigate the arena to assist guests
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
