Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

This role is for a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. As a PRN (per diem) position, the CT Technologist operates under the direction of radiologists, directors, supervisors, and lead special procedure technologists. The primary responsibility is to perform diagnostic medical imaging, including cardiac CT and invasive procedures by CT Scan examinations. The technologist ensures quality images are produced consistently while adhering to departmental and hospital standards. This position requires proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy, patient vein and site selection for venipuncture, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to patients, families, and hospital staff.

The CT Technologist is deeply involved in maintaining safety, infection control, and quality assurance programs while following hospital policies for biohazardous waste handling and patient privacy. The role demands physical capability for standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving heavy equipment or patients, and managing fluctuating workloads efficiently. Critical to the position is the ability to operate hospital and radiology information systems accurately, document procedures and patient data per guidelines, and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.

This job requires an individual to possess highly specialized skills in CT imaging, including the use of 3D workstations and advanced imaging techniques.
