Job Description
The hiring company is a manufacturing facility specializing in the production of flavor and fragrance products through the precise blending of chemicals. This company takes pride in maintaining high safety and quality standards while utilizing modern technology and equipment in their compounding processes. The company environment is fast-paced and production-oriented with a strong emphasis on teamwork, safety, and cleanliness. The establishment offers its employees a standard Monday through Friday work schedule, specifically a first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Compensation for the role ranges between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and responsibilities required for the position.
The role of the Compounder is critical for the manufacturing process as it involves the accurate measuring and mixing of raw material ingredients following detailed formulas and instructions. The Compounder works closely with safety procedures, operational guidelines, and quality controls to ensure that every batch produced meets the company’s high standards. Utilizing a computer mobile system (CMS) for compounding, the Compounder operates equipment such as tanks and pots while ensuring cleanliness and maintenance throughout the shift. Responsibilities include managing inventory by inspecting incoming empty drums for damage, stacking and storing these drums properly, and conducting regular equipment calibration and cleaning tasks. The Compounder plays a vital role in controlling environmental factors such as ventilation when blending raw materials and chemicals, and is also responsible for safely operating forklifts and drum handling equipment as part of their daily routine.
Attention to detail is essential because the job requires constant monitoring of equipment, temperature controls, and mix consistency to produce high-quality flavor and fragrance products. The Compounder must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) by maintaining a clean work area and using personal protective equipment consistently. Additionally, the Compounder must demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors, and be proficient with MS Office applications like Outlook, as well as ERP systems such as Batch Metrics and NetSuite. Mathematical skills are necessary for applying fractions, percentages, and ratios in the compounding process. Physically, the position demands the ability to stand for extended periods, move materials up to 50 pounds manually, and operate forklifts and carts. Due to the nature of the work, exposure to strong odors and the requirement to work beyond standard shift hours occasionally, including weekends, are expected as part of the role. Overall, this position suits a safety-conscious, detail-oriented individual with a strong team ethic and technical aptitude in chemical compounding operations.
