Job Description
DAP is a market-leading manufacturer, innovator, and marketer of home repair and construction products, including caulks, sealants, spray foam insulation, adhesives, and patch and repair products. As a prominent part of RPM International Inc., a $6.1 billion multinational company with subsidiaries that are leaders in specialty coatings, sealants, building materials, and related services, DAP plays a vital role in the construction industry. Their products are widely recognized and trusted by professional painters, remodelers, builders, and do-it-yourselfers across 60,000 retail outlets, from home centers and mass merchandisers to local hardware, pro contractor channels, and paint stores. The company operates eight manufacturing and distribution facilities in the United States and Canada, serving not only North America but also markets worldwide.
At DAP, the quality of work and innovation drive success. The company is committed to hiring the best people and fostering a collaborative and rewarding work environment that empowers associates to succeed and advance professionally. They emphasize continuous professional growth and work closely with employees to support their career development. DAP offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 401(k) plans with company match, pension plans, paid parental leave, competitive health insurance rates, employee stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, free wellness programs, and more. This commitment to employee welfare and career advancement establishes DAP as an employer of choice in the home repair and construction sector.
The role of the Compounder at DAP is crucial in the manufacturing process. Compounders are responsible for combining raw materials according to batch specifications to create finished products ready for packaging lines. This role requires adherence to specific manufacturing procedures and best practices to ensure product quality and consistency. New compounders will also receive training in tank cleaning to support operational efficiency. The Compounder must operate within all plant and departmental safety guidelines, including bonding-grounding protocols and lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
Daily tasks include transporting raw materials from the warehouse to workstations, using hoists for heavy lifting, and moving completed batches to staging areas. Compounders maintain professional relationships with quality control personnel to discuss batch adjustments and communicate effectively. Continuous learning and collaboration with supervisors and coworkers are essential for improving job knowledge and performance. The position also involves maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping duties to uphold plant standards. Overall, this role calls for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to quality production in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
