The role of a Housekeeper at Hotel San Jose and Austin Motel is vital in maintaining the pristine condition and welcoming atmosphere of both properties. Housekeepers are responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, exterior public zones, and linens. This position requires adherence to established policies, standards, and guidelines set forth by the Bunkhouse company and regulatory bodies like the Department of Health. The position demands excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively resolve conflicts, ensuring smooth interactions with team members, guests, vendors, and partners. A Housekeeper is also expected to embody and promote the company’s culture, values, and reputation, representing the brand positively in all facets of their work. This includes maintaining cleanliness to the highest standard, managing inventories of supplies and linens, reporting maintenance concerns, contributing to deep cleaning projects, and ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive support and guest name recognition. Job Duties
- complete an in-room checklist for assigned rooms
- notify supervisor of any guest rooms needing maintenance or placement out of order
- clean guest rooms, public spaces, exteriors, and back-of-house daily
- maintain inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities according to par levels
- ensure storage rooms have at least one par clean at all times
- report and correct deficiencies in guest rooms or public areas
- assist in completing special projects such as mattress rotation, window washing, and deep cleaning
- maintain positive relationships with employees and guests
- communicate room status and other necessary information to related departments
- promote guest name recognition
- possess knowledge of all guest services and amenities
- answer calls courteously and professionally
- maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas
- be aware of safety issues and follow OSHA requirements
- know all safety and emergency procedures
- attend relevant meetings
- adhere to all operational standards, policies, and procedures
