Job Description
Remington Hospitality is a renowned U.S.-based third-party hotel management company established in 1968, with a strong presence across the United States, the Caribbean, and the Latin America (CALA) region. The company specializes in managing both branded and independent hotel properties, with a current portfolio of over 100 hotels spanning 30 states and representing 26 distinguished brands. Remington Hospitality is recognized for its commitment to financial discipline, brand compliance, and operational accountability. The firm's leadership philosophy centers around fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture that prioritizes long-term success and professional growth for its team members.
This particular opportunity is for the role of Complex General Manager at a two-hotel branded complex located in the dynamic Mexico City market. The complex consists of a full-service hotel and a select-service hotel, collectively offering more than 350 guestrooms. The General Manager will provide strategic and operational oversight for both properties, ensuring a balance between outstanding guest experiences, robust financial performance, and effective team leadership. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations CALA, this role is critical in maintaining brand standards, driving revenue growth, and fostering a high-performing team environment.
The Complex General Manager will be based on-site in the Mexico City area, with the employment being full-time and permanent. This role offers a competitive annual salary of $100,000 USD, paid in local currency, accompanied by a quarterly bonus potentially reaching up to 50% based on performance. Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, with a strong requirement for English business fluency to successfully navigate the bilingual environment of the position. Candidates must reside in Mexico and possess the necessary authorization to work within the country.
Key responsibilities include leading daily operations across both hotels to ensure consistent service delivery that aligns with brand expectations and operational excellence. The manager will oversee department heads from various functions such as Rooms, Food and Beverage, Sales, Finance, Engineering, and Human Resources, ensuring all elements work cohesively to meet guest satisfaction goals. Financial responsibilities involve comprehensive profit and loss management, budgeting, forecasting, and expense control, with an emphasis on developing revenue strategies across multiple outlets including rooms, food and beverage, meetings, and ancillary services.
Moreover, the role demands strong collaboration with sales and revenue management teams to optimize market share and profitability through targeted local and complex-wide sales initiatives. The General Manager will be pivotal in cultivating an organizational culture defined by accountability, teamwork, and service excellence while ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
Engagement with property owners and stakeholders forms another vital component of the role. The Complex General Manager will act as the primary liaison, providing transparent communication, timely reports, and strategic guidance to build trust and ensure consistent achievement of business objectives. The position calls for a seasoned leader with at least 8 to 10 years of hotel operations experience, including significant time as a General Manager and a background in managing multi-property or complex operations within large urban hospitality markets. A robust financial acumen paired with hands-on profit and loss experience is essential, alongside demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
This leadership role within a premier hotel management company like Remington Hospitality offers the right candidate an exceptional platform to influence hospitality standards and operations in one of the most vibrant markets in Mexico. With a focus on both guest experience and operational excellence, the Complex General Manager has the unique opportunity to drive success, growth, and innovation across the hotel complex while contributing to Remington’s legacy of excellence in the CALA region.
