The company emphasizes the use of advanced revenue management tools to predict evolving market dynamics, ensuring sustained outperformance and maximized asset value. Highgate's global presence and seasoned leadership team make it a trusted partner among leading ownership groups and major hotel brands.
The Complex Event Manager role at Highgate Hotels is an essential position responsible for the successful coordination and execution of group business events. This role involves overseeing all aspects from the initial sales handover, through event execution, to the final financial reconciliation, ensuring both operational profitability and a superior guest experience. The Complex Event Manager plays a pivotal role in meeting the hotel's banquet and catering budgets while actively promoting new business ideas to enhance revenue. Furthermore, the role includes managing employee turnover, maintaining revenue and payroll budgets, and ensuring high-quality service standards consistently.
Working at Highgate Hotels offers a dynamic environment where the Complex Event Manager will liaise between clients and various operating departments to ensure every event's success and foster long-term client relationships that encourage repeat business. Key responsibilities include managing client communications, handling event logistics, coordinating meeting room and sleeping room configurations, and navigating complex operational elements across hotel departments such as food and beverage, guest services, housekeeping, audiovisual, and more.
The role requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively under tight deadlines. The Complex Event Manager contributes to hotel operations by participating in training sessions and management meetings, helping integrate the Highgate Hotel Enrichment philosophy that focuses on outstanding guest service. This position demands a flexible schedule, occasionally involving long hours, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of hotel event management.
Candidates for this role should possess between two to five years of progressive experience in hotel management or meeting planning, be adept with computer applications such as Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing software, and have a solid understanding of food and beverage preparation, health regulations, and liquor laws. Experience with Marriott's Consolidated Inventory System (CI) is advantageous but not mandatory. Physical duties entail light work, occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds. Joining Highgate Hotels as a Complex Event Manager means becoming part of a forward-thinking and expansive company dedicated to excellence in the hospitality industry.
