Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
  • At least 3 years experience in hospitality finance or accounting
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with budget preparation and capital expenditure management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Commitment to compliance with legal regulations and company policies

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in hotel or hospitality related finance and accounting

Job Duties

  • Perform special financial analysis as needed or requested by General Manager and Corporate Office
  • Provide practical financial solutions with cost-benefit evaluation
  • Participate actively in Executive Committee and staff meetings
  • Assist managers in analyzing financial statements, distributions, and data
  • Support and comply with property standards and Corporate SOPs
  • Correct deficiencies identified on Internal Audit reports
  • Use Controller's Checklist effectively
  • Maintain cash control system with audits and reporting
  • Review security over assets and audit inventories
  • Understand leases, contracts, agreements, and related legal regulations
  • Apply knowledge of sales tax, innkeeper, liquor, and labor laws
  • Schedule and coordinate annual operating budget preparation and presentation
  • Manage capital expenditures budget according to SOP
  • Control capital expenditure program and complete ROI analysis
  • Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy
  • Inform management of current and potential financial issues
  • Monitor sales and profit attainment
  • Coordinate property labor management system
  • Maintain standards for accounts receivable and collection periods
  • Document credit policies and audit compliance
  • Approve major accounts for credit
  • Conduct credit and write-off meetings
  • Submit credit loss reports
  • Review banquet functions and group accounts for credit approval
  • Manage bad debt expenses in credit sales
  • Fulfill accounts receivable responsibilities to maximize realizations
  • Complete financial reports required by corporate offices
  • Reconcile account balances regularly
  • Establish accruals and pre-paid account balances
  • Calculate turn ratios and asset days available
  • Work with department managers to control inventory
  • Comply with deferring payments procedures
  • Maintain and update departmental job descriptions and standards
  • Comply with wage policies including increases and timing
  • Establish cross-training programs within department
  • Identify, screen, and attract management candidates
  • Comply with attendance rules and availability
  • Perform other duties as assigned
