Job Requirements
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests
- Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
- Comply with company standards and regulations
- Maximize productivity efforts and assist in problem solving
- Must be effective in handling problems including anticipating, preventing, and resolving
- Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information and data
- Must maintain confidentiality of information
- Perform other duties as requested by management
- Long hours sometimes required
- Able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects
Job Qualifications
- At least 3 years of progressive hotel sales experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have knowledge and ability to analyze reports
- Experience with Lighthouse, Amadeus preferred
- Marriott MarRFP and MINT experience preferred
- Marriott Consolidated Inventory System CI experience a plus
Job Duties
- Attend and be prepared for daily Highgate Hotel Business Review meeting
- Develop a full working knowledge of hotel operations including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations
- Develop complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOPs and ensure adherence by sales team
- Meet or exceed set sales goals
- Operate within established sales expense budget
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- Initiate and follow up on leads
- Maintain an active sales solicitation program
- Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends
- Connect and maintain local negotiated accounts and develop new accounts
- Regularly contact existing accounts based on tracing frequencies
- Invite clients for entertainment, lunches, tours and property visits
- Assist in implementing special promotions
- Prepare required reports timely
- Conduct professional property inspections with clients
- Use computerized sales management systems to manage business
- Work closely with brand Global Sales Office
- Develop networking through community and professional activities
- Entertain clients
- Travel as required
