Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years of related progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field
  • Or a 4-year college degree with accounting or finance concentration and minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Or a 2-year college degree and minimum 4 years of related experience
  • Proficient in Windows and company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Skilled in operation of hotel-specific systems
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns from employees and guests
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Service-oriented and courteous approach in all interactions
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in management on duty coverage as required
  • Regular attendance in compliance with company standards
  • High standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply with company standards and regulations

Job Duties

  • Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues including preparation of monthly financial statements for the property
  • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses ensuring accurate recording in accordance with established guidelines
  • Create annual budgets and monthly variance analysis offering practical improvement methodologies
  • Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and operational taxes
  • Analyze financial data and operations to assist management in maintaining financial objectives
  • Comply with standard accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Review and approve all balance sheet accounts including monthly bank reconciliation and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Establish and audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, payroll, and employee records
  • Coordinate successful completion of internal and external financial audits
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff including coaching and counseling
  • Maintain compliance with company standards and regulations ensuring safe and efficient hotel operation
  • Prepare all financial reports in accordance with company requirements meeting deadlines
  • Report weekly on accounts receivable, accounts payable aging, flash reports, payroll reports, and revenue updates
  • Provide monthly financial statements, forecasting key statistics, and cash flow reports
  • Develop annual budgets, five-year plans, and capital plans
  • Interact timely with Executive Committee members to keep operations on track
  • Monitor compliance with reporting deadlines
  • Oversee accurate production of daily operating report
  • Execute special projects and responsibilities as assigned
