Job Description

Comparion Insurance Agency, established in 2022, operates as a dynamic insurance agency backed by Liberty Mutual Group, a Fortune 100 company founded in 1912. Comparion was created to transition former Liberty Mutual exclusive agents into a new agency model delivering unique value propositions to carriers, featuring over 2,000 agents across approximately 180 cities in 44 states. As a part of this expansive network, Comparion offers customers access to 50 insurance companies providing a broad product portfolio including auto, home, life, pet, renters, umbrella, jewelry insurance, and more. The agency prides itself on leveraging its scale to offer a first-rate customer experience through consultative insurance experts who are embedded in their local communities.

The leadership team at Comparion boasts over 200 years of cumulative insurance experience, emphasizing a philosophy of closeness to customers and agents. This is reflected in the decentralized presence of sales leadership, who are strategically located throughout the country in major storefronts to be accessible and responsive to local demands. As an equal opportunity employer, Liberty Mutual and its affiliated agencies like Comparion are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace free from discrimination.

The Commercial Insurance Specialist role within Comparion Insurance Agency is tailored for proactive, client-focused professionals located in the Atlanta Metro market. This role is critical for identifying and developing new small commercial insurance business opportunities. Typically focusing on small business customers with revenues under $10 million, the specialist will engage in consultative sales practices designed to tailor insurance solutions to specific client needs.

The position involves a dynamic blend of prospecting, quoting, policy placement, and account management duties. The specialist will be expected to source new accounts through multiple channels including referrals, networking efforts, inbound leads, and active prospecting. A strong emphasis is placed on using industry knowledge to advise clients on appropriate coverage options such as business owner policies (BOP), general liability, property, commercial auto, workers' compensation, cyber liability, umbrella policies, and surety bonds.

In addition to sales, the Commercial Insurance Specialist must conduct preliminary underwriting risk assessments, prepare accurate quotes by utilizing agency management systems, CRM tools, and carrier rating platforms, and meet established business volume and quality standards. Collaborating closely with internal teams and agency partners to ensure a seamless customer experience is another pivotal aspect of the role. Building and maintaining fruitful referral relationships with other agents within the region is also essential for generating consistent leads and expanding the book of business.

The position offers a competitive starting salary package around $65,000 per year, combining base salary, bonuses, and uncapped commissions. Total first-year compensation can range from $65,000 to $125,000 depending on performance and production. This compensation structure offers considerable growth potential for motivated sales professionals seeking to expand their career in the commercial insurance space.

Successful candidates for this role will have at least one to three years of relevant insurance or sales/service experience, preferably in small commercial lines. A Property & Casualty license or progress toward obtaining one is required. The role calls for excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities, as well as the ability to manage multiple systems and maintain productive client interactions independently in a fast-paced environment. Preferred candidates will have additional certifications such as CLCS, CISR, CIC, or CPCU, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Overall, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a leading insurance agency’s growth while building a rewarding career in a supportive, growth-oriented environment. Candidates passionate about consultative sales, client service, and the insurance industry will find this position both challenging and fulfilling.
