The Route Sales Driver's duties require proficiency in using handheld devices and printers to create invoices and credits accurately. Experience with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) routes to grocery stores is essential, as is the ability to manage the logistics of loading from the warehouse and unloading at delivery locations. Additionally, the driver will assist in merchandising, setting up cardboard displays, and maintaining product presentation standards at retail points.
This position is not remote or hybrid; it requires physical presence to perform duties including vehicle inspections, travel log maintenance, and direct product handling. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be at least 23 years old. Punctuality, reliability, and effective communication skills are critical to success. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Must be 23 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
- Working knowledge of local roads and routes
- The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals
- Effective communication skills
- Punctual and reliable
Job Qualifications
- Handheld and printer experience to create invoices and credits
- Knowledge of DSD (Direct Store Delivery) to grocery stores including chains and independents
- Ability to load (from warehouse) and unload delivery vehicle (to accounts)
- Merchandising experience
- Effective communication skills
- Bilingual English Spanish is a plus
Job Duties
- Safely transporting company product (tortillas) and materials (cardboard displays) to and from specified locations in a timely manner
- Assisting with the loading and offloading of product and materials
- Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction
- Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours
- Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking to avoid towing
- Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning, and vehicle maintenance
- Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s coming and goings
- Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management
