Job Description
Ole is a distinguished food company committed to crafting the finest authentic Mexican-inspired products, with a deep dedication to quality and freshness. At Ole, their mission transcends mere food production; they strive to be an essential part of family traditions by offering genuine and wholesome products that enable customers to create memorable, fun, and authentic eating experiences around their dinner tables. They recognize that earning a seat at the family table is the highest compliment, and this philosophy drives their rigorous standards and passionate approach to delivering superior products. Ole's product line is primarily centered around traditional Mexican staples such as tortillas, which they produce with great care and regard for authenticity and freshness to ensure exceptional taste and quality with every batch.
Ole is currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Route Sales Driver to join their team. This is a full-time, in-person position that requires a professional capable of managing transport logistics, ensuring timely delivery and pickup of products primarily to grocery stores along specified routes. The core responsibility of the Route Sales Driver will be the secure and punctual transportation of company products—mainly tortillas—as well as associated materials like cardboard displays. The role demands a proactive individual who can handle all transport-related duties efficiently, including maintaining a detailed travel log that records work hours, travel time, and locations visited. The position also involves routine inspection and maintenance of the company vehicle to uphold safety and operational standards.
This role is crucial for operational success and customer satisfaction, as the Route Sales Driver acts as a direct link between Ole and its retail customers. Responsibilities include assisting in the loading and unloading of the products, accurately managing delivery schedules, and adjusting routes when necessary to avoid delays caused by traffic or road construction. The successful candidate will also need to ensure all addresses and transportation information are precise prior to any delivery or pickup. Moreover, the driver must promptly report any incidents such as traffic tickets, vehicle damage, or accidents to management to ensure transparency and smooth operations.
Ole values punctuality, reliability, and impeccable communication skills in their drivers. Additionally, experience with handheld devices and printers to generate invoices and credits, knowledge of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) processes to various grocery stores including chain and independent stores, and merchandising experience are considerable assets for applicants. The company prefers candidates who hold at least a high school diploma or GED, are at least 23 years old, possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and have in-depth knowledge of local routes and road safety regulations. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a significant advantage, enhancing the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base.
The role undertakes non-remote duties, requiring physical presence to load, transport, and deliver products safely and efficiently. Candidates must demonstrate reliability and a commitment to uphold the company's reputation through exemplary service and attention to detail. Ole’s Route Sales Driver position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a company passionate about traditional Mexican cuisine and customer satisfaction while fostering a safe and productive work environment.
