The role of the Route Sales Driver at Ole is a critical position responsible for all transport-related activities to ensure prompt, safe, and efficient delivery of products to grocery stores. This full-time, on-site position involves handling company products—primarily tortillas—and related materials such as cardboard displays. The driver will follow assigned routes to deliver and pick up merchandise based on schedules, maintaining accurate records of travel times, locations, and work hours. Routine daily inspections of the company vehicle must be performed to guarantee safety and proper maintenance. The Route Sales Driver must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills by verifying delivery addresses and transportation details before each trip. Successful candidates will have experience with handheld and printer devices to create invoices and credits, plus knowledge of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) models for grocery stores, including chain and independent accounts. The driver also participates in loading and unloading products and merchandising at delivery points.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Must be 23 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
  • Working knowledge of local roads and routes
  • Ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals
  • Effective communication skills
  • Punctual and reliable

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience with handheld and printer devices to create invoices and credits
  • Knowledge of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) to grocery stores including chains and independents
  • Ability to load from warehouse and unload delivery vehicle to accounts
  • Merchandising experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Bilingual English Spanish is a plus
  • Punctual and reliable

Job Duties

  • Safely transporting company product(tortillas) and materials (carboard displays) to and from specified locations in a timely manner
  • Assisting with the loading and offloading of product and materials
  • Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction
  • Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours
  • Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking to avoid towing
  • Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning, and vehicle maintenance
  • Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s coming and goings
  • Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management
