The role available is that of a Beverage Server. This position is fundamental to the hotel's guest experience, focusing on thoughtful, courteous hospitality to ensure every guest has a positive interaction. The Beverage Server will be responsible for the proper setup and maintenance of the bar area daily, ensuring that all beverage supplies including beer, wine, spirits, condiments, and fresh garnishes are well stocked and prepared following projected needs and quality standards. The role involves greeting guests warmly, taking and promoting drink orders, preparing drinks accurately while adhering to standardized recipes and portion controls, and ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and company policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages. In addition to drink preparation, the Beverage Server manages cash transactions, inputs orders correctly into the point of sale system, balances cash drawers, and ensures the secure handling of all monetary transactions and bar equipment. The position demands strong interpersonal communication skills to engage effectively with guests and colleagues, diligence in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, and reliability through consistent attendance and adherence to schedule requirements. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $23.00.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in hospitality or beverage service preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • knowledge of food and beverage service and alcoholic beverage regulations
  • basic math skills

  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to operate point of sale systems
  • ability to maintain regular attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • must communicate well with guests
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic drinks
  • basic math skills to operate cash register, make change, total checks, count bank, prepare cash drops
  • manual dexterity to use knife for garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, reach overhead
  • ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
  • ability to operate keyboard and point of sale system
  • ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
  • requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
  • maintains stock, cuts, and stores fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily
  • greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • abides by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • inputs orders into register at the point of sale and creates checks for all guests
  • receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
  • locks and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items
  • deposits cash drops and secures bank
  • complies with attendance rules and maintains regular availability
  • performs other job-related duties as assigned
