WVS is currently seeking a part-time Community Transit Trainer to join their team supporting programs in Snohomish County. This role, based in Everett, WA, involves approximately 20 to 25 hours per week of flexible schedule work. As a Community Transit Trainer, you will play a crucial role in cooperating closely with Employment Consultants and the Program Manager to help persons with disabilities, seniors, and other community members in need of travel training to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for safe and confident bus riding. This position is community-oriented and requires outreach, education, assessment, and ongoing support to enhance the independence of transit users.

The Community Transit Trainer will provide practical and insightful instruction on bus safety, navigation, and the fundamentals of transit use. Besides training, the role involves active marketing and promotion of WVS programs within local school districts, senior centers, and other community-based organizations. Success in this position requires a blend of patience, teaching ability, a strong orientation toward customer service, and autonomous work capability. The trainer will engage with diverse populations, requiring excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to tailor instruction to individual needs. Strong organizational skills are also essential due to the need to maintain detailed records, skills assessments, training summaries, and recommendations.
