The Community Specialist role at lululemon plays a crucial part in executing the store's community strategy. This position involves building and nurturing relationships within the local community, including working with brand Ambassadors and partner studios to create valuable partnerships. The Community Specialist supports lululemon's product seeding initiatives and attends local fitness studios to strengthen connections. This role requires delivering an exceptional customer experience on the store floor by integrating community insights into guest interactions, ensuring that every visitor feels understood and supported.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with store leadership to implement the community strategy, managing relationships with key local partners such as Ambassadors and studio owners, and increasing guest acquisition and retention through community engagement. The Community Specialist actively participates in or hosts community events and ensures the product seeding strategy is executed effectively. They use community-focused data and business metrics to provide insights and recommendations for community initiatives. Beyond external relations, this role contributes to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and fun team environment that celebrates diversity and promotes productivity.
To succeed as a Community Specialist, candidates should have at least one year of experience in customer service, grassroots marketing, brand engagement, or community building. The position demands excellent communication skills, relationship-building abilities, and a passion for wellness and fitness. Flexibility with scheduling is important, as work times may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasionally early mornings or late nights to support peak periods and special events.
