Job Description
Center City District (CCD) is a prominent organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in downtown Philadelphia, specifically Center City. Established to maintain and promote a clean, safe, and vibrant urban environment, CCD plays a crucial role in shaping a welcoming and thriving city core that supports residents, businesses, workers, and visitors alike. Their mission-driven approach combines public service and community engagement with active presence and responsiveness to the dynamic needs of a bustling metropolitan center. CCD is known for its commitment to maintaining exceptional standards in place management, public safety, and customer service, fostering a positive experience throughout the area. They achieve this through a network of dedicated frontline ambassadors, field operations, collaborations with city agencies, and ongoing community relations efforts.
The position of Community Service Representative Manager at CCD is a unique leadership opportunity that involves actively managing and motivating a group of Community Service Representatives (CSRs). Unlike traditional desk-bound managerial roles, this position emphasizes hands-on, field-based leadership where the manager works outdoors daily, coaching and supporting staff on the ground, coordinating operational activities, and engaging directly with the public. The role demands a strong commitment to service excellence, flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and nontraditional shifts, and the ability to respond effectively to real-time challenges and opportunities within an urban outdoor setting.
As the Community Service Representative Manager, you will lead a vital team acting as the visible face of CCD, ensuring that Center City remains clean, safe, welcoming, and vibrant. Your responsibilities will include guiding your team to deliver exceptional customer service, mediating conflict situations, facilitating public engagement, and working collaboratively with businesses, property owners, residents, and city partners. Success in this role requires a proactive, solution-focused mindset, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for improving community well-being through direct public interaction and efficient operational management. Through your leadership, you will directly influence the perception and experience of Center City Philadelphia each day, making a meaningful impact on the community and contributing to the district’s continued growth and positive reputation.
