Job Description
WSH Management is a well-established property management company with over 20 years of experience specializing in managing senior and multifamily properties. With a portfolio exceeding 60 properties across California and a dedicated workforce of over 175 employees, WSH Management is renowned for its expertise in both affordable and market-rate apartment communities. The company is committed to fostering inclusive and equitable hiring practices, ensuring equal opportunity for all applicants regardless of race, gender, age, or other legally protected categories. WSH Management prioritizes creating safe, welcoming living environments and offers comprehensive support to residents and staff alike. The company values professionalism, teamwork, and ongoing training to maintain high standards and compliance with regulations.
The Community Manager position at WSH Management is a full-time, day-shift role based at a 57-unit Tax Credit property in Los Angeles, CA. This crucial leadership role offers an hourly wage of $27.00 to $28.00 and includes an exceptional benefit package with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with employer match. Notably, this position provides a rent-free, on-site one-bedroom apartment at Central Ave Apartments, enhancing work-life balance for the chosen candidate.
As a Community Manager, the successful applicant will oversee all aspects of daily property operations, ensuring smooth move-ins, move-outs, transfers, unit inspections, and tax credit compliance certifications and recertifications. The role involves managing property occupancy levels, overseeing accounts receivable and payable, and preparing detailed weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, including budget development. Supervisory responsibilities extend to managing maintenance technicians and other staff, emphasizing training, development, and fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
The role demands strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability to address resident concerns promptly and support community retention initiatives. The Community Manager is also responsible for maintaining compliance with California landlord-tenant laws, fair housing regulations, affordable housing program requirements, and health and safety standards. The role includes emergency response leadership within the community to manage incidents such as fires, floods, or criminal activities.
An essential part of the position is to drive leasing efforts using strategic marketing and database management tools like Yardi software to maximize occupancy rates and minimize lost rent. The Community Manager also ensures that all administrative procedures such as lease processing, resident file maintenance, leasing staff oversight, and vendor relations are handled effectively and timely.
WSH Management seeks a candidate with a college degree preferred, certification as a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) desirable, and a minimum of two years of on-site Assistant Community Manager experience or comparable supervisory experience in a customer service environment. Experience in affordable or permanent supportive housing is mandatory. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software, valid driver’s license, and knowledge of OSHA regulations are required. The candidate must demonstrate a professional demeanor, pass background and drug screenings, and be available for occasional evening or weekend on-call duties.
Joining WSH Management means becoming part of a respected organization dedicated to quality property management, resident satisfaction, and employee growth. The company’s commitment to safety, legal compliance, and community engagement makes this an excellent opportunity for an experienced community management professional to advance their career in a supportive and rewarding environment.
