The Community Health Organizer role is a vital position within the Center for Community Health & Aging at Texas A&M University Health Science Center. This staff role focuses on the Texas A&M Opioid Prevention for K-12 Students (TOPS) program. The organizer performs a mix of administrative responsibilities, community engagement, curriculum training, and program implementation. The position involves collaborating with schools, community partners, and public health stakeholders across multiple Texas locations including Tyler, Amarillo, San Angelo, Victoria, and Dallas/Ft Worth.

The Community Health Organizer contributes directly to combating opioid misuse among youth by promoting education and awareness through the TOPS program. They coordinate events, liaise between community and school decision-makers, mobilize key stakeholders, and provide culturally sensitive support on opioid prevention education. They also engage in detailed reporting and program evaluation, ensuring program goals and grant deliverables are met effectively.
