Job Description

The City of Kaukauna is a vibrant and community-focused municipality dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents and visitors. Nestled in Wisconsin, Kaukauna prides itself on its rich cultural heritage, scenic parks, and active community engagement programs. The city government is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment through various recreational and enrichment activities designed to bring people together and promote civic pride. Kaukauna's devotion to creating memorable experiences through events and programs is evident in its investment in community spaces and partnerships with local organizations. The city’s approach emphasizes collaboration, support for local businesses, and providing diverse programming that caters to all age groups and interests.

The Community Enrichment Coordinator position is an exciting role within the City of Kaukauna's Recreation Department. This role plays a crucial part in organizing and managing community events that activate public spaces, particularly the popular LIVE! from Hydro Park concert series. As a Community Enrichment Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of event planning and coordination aimed at promoting cultural events, wellness programs, and family-friendly activities in the parks and other communal areas. The position requires a creative yet highly organized individual who can handle the logistics of event management, coordinate with vendors, and promote the city’s enrichment initiatives effectively.

This part-time opportunity offers up to 1,100 hours annually, with the busiest season running from May through September. A flexible schedule is essential, especially availability on Wednesday evenings during the concert series held June through August. The Coordinator will work closely with various city departments and community partners, such as the 1000 Islands Environmental Center, Grignon Mansion, and the Kaukauna Public Library, to ensure an engaging variety of programs. In addition to event planning, the role also involves administrative duties such as managing facility reservations, processing payments, and providing front desk support.

The successful candidate will have experience in the hospitality industry and familiarity with state regulations related to food, beverage, and vending permits. This role not only requires operational expertise but also a passion for community engagement and the ability to foster relationships with local businesses, civic groups, and residents. Through strategic planning and active community outreach, the Coordinator will play a pivotal role in maximizing the use of Kaukauna’s park system and enriching the community’s cultural landscape.
