Job Description
Indelible is a leading emergency management and disaster response organization specializing in rapidly deploying skilled professionals to support client agencies across Florida, including state, county, and municipal governments. The company focuses on providing critical staffing solutions during natural disasters and emergencies, facilitating response, recovery, and community outreach operations. Indelible operates an on-call response operations team comprised of highly trained Community Engagement professionals who are prepared to mobilize quickly and deliver vital public assistance during crises. This temporary and seasonal employment offers a unique opportunity to be part of a responsive and dynamic emergency response cadre dedicated to assisting communities affected by sudden disasters.
The roles available encompass a range of Community Engagement positions, including Community Engagement Specialist, Deputy Lead, Lead, and Regional Lead, each varying in responsibility and scope. These positions are temporary, full-time, and contingent upon client needs and work availability. Compensation ranges broadly from $14 to $55 per hour, depending on specific role, responsibilities, experience, education, and skills. Initial onboarding is paid at the base rate, with adjusted compensation during deployment. The work schedule is flexible and may include evenings, weekends, and extended hours, emphasizing dependability and the ability to deploy on short notice, typically within 24 to 48 hours.
The Community Engagement roles require direct interaction with the public in high-stress, fast-paced environments affected by emergency events. Duties span delivering accurate disaster assistance information, supporting service registration and coordination, conducting door-to-door outreach, staffing community events, and assisting with logistics at deployment sites. In leadership roles, responsibilities also include conducting briefings, managing team assignments, coordinating with local officials and agencies, and ensuring equitable service delivery. Fieldwork demands physical mobility, the ability to stand or sit for long periods in various outdoor conditions, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Ideal candidates bring prior experience in emergency management, disaster recovery, humanitarian aid, or related fields, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. They must exhibit cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and empathy when engaging with affected populations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile technology is required, including the use of a personal smartphone with updated software for deploying Indelible's mobile device management. Fluency in English is mandatory, with Spanish or Creole language skills considered advantageous.
Candidates should be prepared to undergo background screenings as mandated by clients and maintain eligibility throughout their employment. Flexibility, resilience, and a commitment to community service are essential qualities for this role. Indelible is dedicated to equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations per federal, state, and local laws, ensuring an inclusive environment for all applicants and employees.
Joining Indelible means becoming part of a vital mission to support communities in times of greatest need, contributing to effective emergency response and recovery efforts statewide. This role offers an empowering and meaningful career path for professionals passionate about making a tangible difference in disaster-impacted areas.
