Job Description
Indelible is a specialized emergency response organization that focuses on rapid deployment of professional support in the wake of natural disasters and other emergencies. The company plays a crucial role in assisting state, county, and municipal governments in Florida by providing highly skilled Community Engagement professionals who serve as vital links between affected communities and emergency services. Indelible's mission is to facilitate effective disaster response, recovery, and community outreach efforts by deploying trained experts who can operate efficiently in high-pressure environments.
The roster of Community Engagement professionals at Indelible includes roles such as Community Engagement Specialist, Deputy Lead, Lead, and Regional Lead. These temporary, full-time positions demand flexibility, availability for rapid deployment within 24 to 48 hours, and readiness to work at client sites across Florida, sometimes involving travel to multiple locations. Compensation ranges from $14 to $55 per hour, depending on the role's complexity, candidate experience, education, and skills. New hires begin with administrative onboarding activities compensated at a base rate of $14 per hour, with potential pay adjustments during deployment.
The role is tailored for individuals passionate about serving their communities during crises. Candidates will be part of an on-call response operations team experiencing fluctuating workloads, where work assignments are contingent upon client needs, approvals, and availability. The work schedule may vary, including evenings and weekends, requiring punctuality, dependability, and reliable transportation daily. Physical requirements include mobility around client sites, standing or sitting for extended periods, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
Responsibilities for these positions encompass delivering timely, accurate disaster-related information to the public, supporting registration and service coordination at various deployment sites, and engaging directly with community members through outreach activities. Team members may assist with daily operations, traffic direction, customer support, check-in procedures, and distribution of essential relief supplies like food, water, and cleaning products. Leadership roles involve managing and coordinating multiple sites, conducting briefings, coaching and overseeing staff performance, and maintaining meticulous records of field activities and community interactions.
Successful candidates bring prior experience in emergency management, disaster recovery, case management, humanitarian aid, or social services. They demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and adaptability when dealing with stressed populations, possess strong communication skills, and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings. Experience with disaster recovery centers, multi-agency resource centers, and supplemental nutrition assistance programs is highly preferred. Candidates must be comfortable using mobile technology and software such as the Microsoft Office Suite, and they are required to have a smartphone compatible with company systems.
Indelible emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion in its hiring practices and commits to reasonable accommodations to support applicants and employees with disabilities or other protected statuses. The company strictly adheres to all federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure a fair and equitable workplace.
This opportunity invites community-minded professionals to join a mission-driven team that responds swiftly to emergencies, making a tangible difference in people’s lives during critical times.
