Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, recreation management, or related field preferred
- minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, community engagement, or public relations preferably in parks and recreation or non-profit environment
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- experience in event planning and community outreach
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media management tools
- knowledge of digital marketing strategies and community engagement practices

Job Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans for the Parks and Recreation Department
- design and implement marketing campaigns across various platforms including social media, print, and digital media
- collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent, on-brand messaging aligned with department goals
- build and nurture relationships with local community groups, schools, businesses, and stakeholders
- serve as the primary point of contact for community inquiries about parks and recreation programs and events
- organize and coordinate community meetings, focus groups, and surveys to gather feedback
- plan, promote, and manage special events, classes, and community activities
- oversee event logistics including vendor and volunteer coordination
- track and evaluate event success to improve future planning
- create and manage social media content and campaigns
- monitor online communications and respond to public inquiries
- develop and write content for newsletters, websites, press releases, and promotional materials
- analyze marketing and engagement data to assess campaign effectiveness
- prepare reports with insights and recommendations for department leadership
- adjust marketing strategies based on data-driven findings
