The role of Community Engagement Coordinator at HealthFitness presents an exciting opportunity to be integral to the launch of a brand-new wellness center in Omaha, Nebraska, scheduled to open in October. This full-time position involves building lasting relationships with members, designing and leading engaging fitness programs and community events, and shaping the member experience from its inception. The Coordinator will act as a key player in embedding a vibrant wellness culture from the ground up, facilitating interaction and inclusion through well-planned activities and events that promote physical and social wellness.
Responsibilities include the coordination, marketing, and implementation of designated fitness and recreation programs to maximize participation and satisfaction. The role demands strategic oversight of program delivery, ensuring all staff involved are well-trained and that the quality of service meets organizational standards. The Coordinator will monitor program outcomes, analyze effectiveness, and contribute ideas for continual improvement, aligning wellness programs with corporate health strategies and employee culture.
This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively manage marketing efforts, conduct presentations, and perform outreach initiatives that foster community engagement. Candidates are expected to bring enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity, working independently or collaboratively within a dynamic team devoted to health, wellness, and community development. The ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to a flexible schedule between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, is essential for success in this role.

Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Exercise Science, Recreation, Kinesiology or related discipline and 1+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
- OSHA compliant Adult/First Aid/CPR/AED certification from recognized organization
- Group Exercise certification required within 60 days if not current
- Personal Trainer certification required within 60 days if not current
- Experience in program leadership, coordination, budgeting, marketing, and promotions
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities including motivation skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Exercise Science, Recreation, Kinesiology or related discipline
- Industry recognized group exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA
- NCCA Accredited personal trainer certification from an industry recognized agency
- Demonstrated experience in leading, coordinating, and delivering effective programs including budgeting, marketing, and promotions
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm and creativity
Job Duties
- Develop, plan, coordinate, market and implement recreation and fitness programs and events
- Maximize participation and engagement through effective program delivery
- Train and supervise staff ensuring certification and quality standards
- Align programs with client business needs and corporate health strategies
- Coordinate marketing efforts including electronic and print promotions
- Collect and analyze program outcomes and report effectiveness
- Provide individual and group exercise instruction and support
- Perform other staff duties such as attending facility events and fitness floor coverage
