The Senior Field Outreach Specialist (Community Engagement & Field Coordinator) will be a pivotal member of the Customer Engagement team. This role is specifically designed for a professional with extensive experience in customer-facing environments who excels in communication, strategic outreach, and problem-solving related to utility infrastructure projects. The Specialist will focus on educating and addressing customer concerns related to System Hardening and Undergrounding programs within designated service territories. Occupying this role means being the primary point of contact for customer outreach efforts, requiring strong coordination with project managers, construction teams, public affairs, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and positive customer relations. With regular travel constituting at least 50 percent of work time, including visits to project sites and occasional trips to corporate locations such as San Ramon for staff meetings and training, the Specialist must be highly adaptable and organized.

Beyond routine outreach, this role demands leveraging technical resources like Google Earth, GIS, and SAP systems to prepare and execute detailed outreach plans, ensuring timely and effective delivery of communications that mitigate customer concerns and support project success. The Senior Field Outreach Specialist leads the development of tactical, locally tailored outreach strategies based on field insights and actively participates in community events such as Open Houses and presentations with community-based organizations. Job Requirements

  • 3 years of customer facing experience
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous on documentation, work planning, training and safety
  • Accountable, self-starter
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license or the ability to obtain by first day of employment
  • Willingness to travel 50 percent of the time, including occasional travel to corporate locations
  • Proficient in using technology tools such as Google Earth, GIS, CC&B, and SAP
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently with limited supervision

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, communications, or related degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years of customer service, program management, project management, gas/electric construction, and/or energy efficiency sales and/or service experience
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain by first day of employment

Job Duties

  • Become a subject matter expert on the System Hardening and Undergrounding Program
  • Understand and review planned work and execute comprehensive customer outreach in coordination with partnering organizations to ensure ample customer communications related to visible field work
  • Collect, coordinate, organize and deliver outreach plans and deliverables in a timely manner
  • Utilize resources to prepare and complete outreach, including Google Earth, GIS, CC&B, SAP
  • Initiate strong working relationships with work sponsored project managers (PMs)
  • Function as lead to coordinate input from the Program Managers, local construction teams, Public Affairs, Land Management, Environmental Management, and others
  • Take the lead to develop local tactical plans, project by project, based on in-field expertise
