Job Description
WeWork is a global leader in flexible workspace solutions, providing dynamic office environments that empower businesses of all sizes to thrive in over 37 countries worldwide. Known for its innovative approach to reimagining modern workspaces, WeWork is more than just a co-working space provider; it is a community builder devoted to supporting its diverse members by giving them the resources and space they need to grow their businesses and foster collaboration. With a strong commitment to creating welcoming and productive environments, WeWork continues to lead the future of work by integrating cutting-edge technology, vibrant community activities, and exceptional customer service into every location it operates.
At WeWork, the Community Associate role is a pivotal position central to maintaining the vibrant and collaborative atmosphere for which WeWork is renowned. This full-time hourly opportunity offers a base pay ranging from $20.50 to $22.50, along with eligibility for incentive compensation plans tailored to each role. Community Associates serve as the primary point of contact for members and guests in their assigned buildings, representing the face of WeWork through exceptional hospitality and community engagement. Reporting directly to the Community Lead and Community Manager, this role involves managing daily operations at the front desk, facilitating community events, ensuring efficient building management, and fostering meaningful relationships among members. The Community Associate supports the overarching mission of WeWork by driving service promotions, contributing feedback to optimize member experiences, and embodying the company’s core values of integrity, responsibility, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Community Associates play an essential role in creating an inclusive and energizing workspace by greeting members and visitors with warmth, managing guest registration processes, and maintaining organized, professional front desk operations during business hours. They anticipate member needs and offer tailored solutions to enhance their experience, supporting a sense of belonging and collaboration within the WeWork community. Beyond front desk duties, associates actively engage in organizing, promoting, and delivering community events that celebrate member successes and foster networking opportunities. This may include coordinating logistics such as HVAC and elevator availability, managing communications related to events, and leveraging the WeWork member network to enhance participation and engagement.
In addition to community engagement, the role involves important administrative tasks including handling mail delivery and courier services, ensuring secure keycard and key management, and understanding emergency equipment locations and procedures. Community Associates also support ancillary services such as managing automated coffee machines that serve members and guests, further contributing to a positive member experience. Depending on location, associates may cater to a diverse member base or focus on Enterprise clients with distinct operational requirements, adding to the dynamic nature of this role.
WeWork values individuals who bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for building entrepreneurial communities. Ideal candidates are college graduates or equivalent, with at least one year of hospitality experience, customer service or sales skills, and proficiency in basic computer functions. A strong alignment with WeWork’s mission and values, coupled with qualities such as integrity, accountability, and compassion, ensures success in this career path.
Joining WeWork means becoming part of a vibrant, supportive community focused on innovation, inclusivity, and professional growth. Full-time employees benefit from comprehensive perks including paid time off, parental leave, competitive healthcare, a 401k retirement plan, and life insurance. These benefits underscore WeWork’s commitment to fostering a balanced, fulfilling work environment. As an equal employment opportunity employer, WeWork promotes diversity and inclusivity, cultivating a culture where every employee can thrive and contribute to shaping the workspace of tomorrow.
