The Community Assistant - SL position at Greystar is a part-time role based in Syracuse, New York, offering an hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $17.00. This role is integral to supporting the property management team at the community level, focusing on achieving occupancy and retention goals for the residential community. The person in this position will perform a variety of administrative, leasing, marketing, and customer service functions within the property’s leasing office.

Responsibilities in this role include handling administrative tasks such as copying, filing resident files, preparing notices, organizing rent payments, and managing resident communication. The Assistant supports sales and leasing efforts by conducting virtual and on-site tours, responding to inquiries, and helping with lease preparation and processing. Additionally, the role involves assisting with move-ins and move-outs, which are mandatory work dates that require flexibility.

Community engagement is a significant aspect of this role. The Assistant is expected to participate in on-campus marketing outreach to generate community awareness and participate in resident functions such as parties and other social events aimed at enhancing resident satisfaction. The role also demands acting as an after-hours liaison for resident emergencies, requiring at least one on-call shift per week. Physical requirements include the ability to work indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions and to handle moderate physical tasks such as carrying weights up to 25 pounds independently.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in customer service or property management preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, carrying weights up to 25 pounds
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies and provide on-call support
  • Basic computer skills for administrative tasks

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform administrative tasks for leasing office including copying documents, filing resident files, preparing notices, handling resident calls, and organizing rent payments
  • Assist with sales and leasing activities to achieve property revenue and occupancy goals by conducting virtual tours, responding to inquiries, greeting and qualifying prospects, conducting property tours and showing apartments
  • Assist with lease preparation by generating required lease paperwork and organizing resident lease files
  • Assist with move in and move out processes, committing to mandatory work dates for these events
  • Answer incoming calls and set appointments for prospect tours
  • Perform on-campus marketing outreach to generate community awareness and qualified traffic
  • Assist with coordinating resident functions including parties, birthday cards, unit visits and other programs to achieve resident satisfaction
  • Schedule and conduct resident visits and distribute notices such as flyers, newsletters, surveys and late notices
  • Act as after-hours liaison for residents responding to emergencies with at least one on-call shift per week
  • Respond quickly and courteously to resident concerns, taking prompt action to solve problems or convey requests to appropriate personnel
