Job Description
Collective is a pioneering company dedicated to revolutionizing the way independent business owners operate. As a comprehensive platform, Collective supports members through every facet of their business journey, from incorporation to accounting, bookkeeping, tax services, and community engagement. The mission centers around empowering self-employed individuals by providing them access to the same financial and tax advantages that large corporations enjoy, enabling them to focus on their passions instead of administrative burdens. This unique blend of technology and personalized advisory services has garnered attention and acclaim from major media outlets like Forbes, Business Insider, Yahoo, Bloomberg, Financial Times, and TechCrunch. Supported by renowned investors such as General Catalyst, Sound Ventures with Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary, QED Investors, Google’s Gradient Ventures, and Expa, Collective stands strong alongside iconic companies like YouTube, Substack, Twitch, Box, Hims, Instacart, and Lyft.
The role offered by Collective is dynamic and hands-on, ideal for someone with a passion for community building and event coordination combined with a flair for storytelling. This position is not your typical community manager role where the primary tasks involve managing online chats or sending newsletters. Instead, the successful candidate will actively engage with members face-to-face at dinners, conferences, and live events nationwide, embodying the brand's warmth and energy. Traveling regularly across the United States, you will be responsible for creating memorable in-person experiences that bring members together and foster a sense of belonging and mutual support. Beyond logistics and event management, this role demands a content creator’s mindset – capturing moments from these events through photos, videos, and narratives to fuel Collective’s social media presence and content strategy. The candidate will work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to transform live interactions and member feedback into actionable insights and engaging stories.
Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced environments where no two weeks are the same. A strong bias for action and ownership is essential. If you enjoy coordinating complex, multi-faceted events effortlessly, engaging with people naturally in social contexts, and leveraging AI tools to measure impact and enhance productivity, this role offers a unique blend of responsibilities. A flair for aesthetics and attention to detail in delivering exceptional member experiences are highly valued. The position offers a remote-friendly work environment with a hybrid option for Bay Area employees, along with a competitive salary range between $115,000 and $150,000. Collective provides extensive benefits, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid parental leave, flexible PTO, retirement plans with equity options, and a thriving, inclusive company culture with regular virtual and in-person team events.
