Job Description

New Wave Design and Contracting is a reputable general contracting company based in New York City, renowned for specializing in high-end Brownstone renovations throughout NYC since 2006. With a commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of the architectural heritage of New York’s historic neighborhoods, New Wave Design and Contracting has established itself as a leader in delivering top-tier renovation services that blend modern functionality with classic aesthetics. Their focus on quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction ensures that every project they undertake results in beautifully restored homes that stand the test of time.

Blueprint Society LLC, a vibrant extension of the New Wave team, is a fast-growing, membership-based networking community that connects professionals across the built environment sectors including architecture, design, construction, real estate, and development. Founded by the experts behind New Wave Design & Build, Blueprint Society fosters collaboration and business development through curated events, panels, and roundtable discussions tailored to the dynamic design and construction scene in New York City. The society’s mission is to build a strong, engaged network of creative and entrepreneurial professionals who drive innovation and growth within the built environment ecosystem.

The Community & Events Manager role at Blueprint Society is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about people and community-building within the architecture and construction industries. This full-time hybrid position, based in NYC with an emphasis on in-person events, offers a competitive base salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 annually, complemented by commission opportunities and profit-sharing as the network expands. This combination of base pay and performance incentives rewards ambitious candidates who thrive on driving community growth and engagement.

The manager will serve as the public face of Blueprint Society, responsible for leading the planning and execution of monthly networking events, panels, and exclusive meetups that bring together diverse professionals from the design and construction sectors. This role requires a detail-oriented and highly organized individual who can seamlessly handle event logistics like invitations, RSVPs, budgeting, and vendor coordination, ensuring every event runs smoothly and achieves its goal of fostering meaningful connections.

In addition to in-person event management, the Community & Events Manager will actively manage member engagement through Blueprint’s new online community portal. This dual engagement strategy ensures members remain connected and involved both digitally and face-to-face. The manager will also develop strategic sponsorship and partnership opportunities with venues, suppliers, and relevant brands, adding value to the community and generating sustainable revenue streams.

This role is tailored for an energetic self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a lean, creative team setting and motivated by a compensation structure that includes performance pay. Candidates should possess at least two years of experience in events, marketing, hospitality, or community management, and a strong network within NYC's design, architecture, or real estate industries is a significant advantage.

Joining Blueprint Society at this founding stage offers a rare chance to shape the culture and direction of a high-value membership platform. The manager will gain direct access to an influential network of professionals across the built environment ecosystem, receive hands-on mentorship from New Wave Design & Build’s leadership, and enjoy revenue upside from events, sponsorships, and future membership programs.

Applicants passionate about community-building in the built environment are encouraged to apply, sharing their excitement and relevant experience to join a growing community that merges creativity, professional growth, and business development within New York City’s dynamic design and construction landscape.
