The role of Community and Events Associate at Abby Care is a vital part of their mission to foster connections within the communities they serve. This full-time hybrid position, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, offers the opportunity to engage deeply with families and community organizations through strategic event planning and outreach. The Community and Events Associate will focus on creating meaningful and inclusive events that reduce isolation among family caregivers and promote a sense of belonging. These events range from family-friendly activities and caregiver support meetings to community festivals and nonprofit resource fairs.

The Associate will act as the face of Abby Care in the field, embodying the company's values and communicating its mission to diverse audiences. Responsibilities include planning and hosting various community events, building and maintaining partnerships with local nonprofits and advocacy groups, and representing Abby Care at external gatherings to raise awareness about their services. Additionally, the role involves managing event logistics, tracking engagement metrics, and collaborating across internal teams to amplify community outreach efforts.

Success in this role requires a self-starter with excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a passion for serving underserved communities. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends and the ability to travel locally for events is essential. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant field
  • Proven experience in community engagement event planning or related outreach roles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Local travel capability within the state of Indiana
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in English required
  • Spanish fluency preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Research plan coordinate and host a variety of weekly events across the state including family-friendly caregiver-only informal gatherings and signature experiences
  • Identify attend and actively participate in local community events nonprofit resource fairs school and advocacy events and family-focused gatherings to raise awareness of Abby Care among families who may qualify
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local nonprofits advocacy groups and community-based organizations that serve eligible families
  • Table at community and nonprofit events engaging families answering questions distributing materials and driving referrals
  • Serve as an on-the-ground ambassador for Abby Care clearly articulating mission services and eligibility criteria to families and partners
  • Manage event logistics including location scouting budgeting vendor coordination marketing materials and refreshments
  • Track engagement lead generation referral and conversion metrics to evaluate awareness-building effects and optimize outreach strategy
  • Foster and grow a thriving caregiver network by ensuring a welcoming inclusive and supportive atmosphere at all events
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate events and community presence into broader growth outreach and retention strategies
  • Stay attuned to caregiver needs community trends and local partnership opportunities to increase reach and relevance
