Job Requirements
- Completion of college coursework in communication, marketing, public administration, or related field
- Experience in social media content production and management
- Knowledge of marketing, public relations, and communications principles and techniques
- Skill in video production, photography, and graphic design
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Ability to use digital tools like Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar software
- Ability to produce engaging content and analyze communication strategies
- Ability to produce reports and present information clearly
- Ability to coordinate and supervise projects
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers and the public
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week on a temporary basis
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field
- Experience in communications, digital marketing, and social media production and management
- Strong writing, editing, and creative copywriting skills
- Proficiency with video and photo editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Canva
- Ability to create engaging digital content using video and photography
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Job Duties
- Develop and implement digital marketing strategies using organic and paid media
- Serve as digital storyteller creating social media content promoting Vista Fire Rescue programs and events
- Monitor social media channels and respond to community inquiries
- Coordinate monthly production of Vista Fire Rescue's email newsletter in English and Spanish
- Serve as photographer and videographer creating digital assets
- Collaborate with Fire Administration to design and execute marketing campaigns
- Perform other related duties as assigned
