Job Description

Virgin Galactic is a pioneering aerospace and space travel company that is transforming the dream of spaceflight into a reality for private individuals and researchers alike. Headquartered in the United States, Virgin Galactic develops advanced air and space vehicles, enabling human spaceflight at an unprecedented frequency and scale. The company operates unique facilities, including its spaceship factory in the Arizona desert and the Spaceport in New Mexico, where exceptional events are held to engage various external and internal audiences. These events are carefully crafted to reflect the extraordinary nature of Virgin Galactic's innovative aerospace programs.

This role of Communications Project Manager is crucial within the Communications and Marketing team, focusing on planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events such as trade shows, media moments, internal offsites, partner activations, product launches, and conferences. The role demands an individual who brings exceptional organizational skills, calmness under pressure, and a passion for orchestrating well-run events that align perfectly with company objectives. As a vital link between multiple departments including communications, marketing, sales, legal, and operations, the Communications Project Manager ensures that all workstreams are managed smoothly, keeping projects on time, on budget, and on brief.

The position is full-time with an annual U.S. base salary range of $81,650 to $124,600, which varies depending on expertise, skills, location, and internal equity. Additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or long-term incentives may be provided, alongside comprehensive medical, financial, and other employee benefits. This role requires tracking project timelines and budgets meticulously, coordinating logistics such as venues, vendors, travel, catering, and material preparation. The person in this role is also responsible for managing event communications including invitations and post-event follow-up, making onsite coordination a hands-on aspect of the job.

Virgin Galactic seeks a candidate with a minimum of five years of experience in events coordination or project management and strong communication skills. The company places emphasis on proactive problem solving, reliability, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-expectation environments. Experience or interest in aerospace, luxury brands, or experiential marketing enhances the candidate’s fit for this dynamic role. Virgin Galactic maintains strict adherence to U.S. export regulations and implements a drug-free workplace policy, ensuring a lawful and safe environment for all employees.

This role offers passionate professionals an extraordinary opportunity to contribute to landmark aerospace events that showcase Virgin Galactic's groundbreaking programs. It is ideal for someone who finds satisfaction in the details of project management and event execution and who thrives in a collaborative and innovative work culture focused on pushing boundaries in human spaceflight and experience design.
