The school is renowned for its strong sense of community and its dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, striving to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and families alike.
The Communication Coordinator role at St. Mary's Episcopal School is a crucial position within the Communication Office tasked with managing and supporting the daily communications operations of the school. This role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in project management who can efficiently handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Communication Coordinator will be responsible for managing timelines and production schedules for publications and promotional materials, ensuring the seamless execution of a wide array of communication projects that represent the school’s brand and mission.
This dynamic position plays a pivotal role in coordinating and producing content across multiple platforms including newsletters, magazines, websites, emails, and social media. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring all communications reflect the school’s high standards of professionalism and creativity. Maintaining the school’s visual identity and consistency of messaging is a key responsibility, demanding an eye for detail and a commitment to quality assurance through editing and proofreading.
In addition to content management, the Communication Coordinator supports the school’s marketing efforts by overseeing the production and distribution of printed materials such as event programs and invitations. Collaborating with a diverse range of internal stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, and parents, as well as external partners such as freelance photographers, videographers, designers, and printers, the Coordinator helps to elevate the school’s storytelling and promotional outreach. This interaction requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster productive and positive relationships.
The role also involves day-to-day administrative support tasks such as scheduling, managing communication requests, organizing files and digital archives, and supporting special projects, events, and media opportunities. An important aspect of this position includes supervising student interns by providing guidance and mentorship to help develop their skills in real-world communication and marketing operations.
Overall, the Communication Coordinator at St. Mary’s Episcopal School is a vital contributor to the school’s identity and external presence, ensuring that all communications are engaging, accurate, and aligned with the institution’s values and goals.
