The position of Meetings, Events, and Marketing Purchasing Manager is an integral part of PACCAR's Indirect Purchasing team. This is a leadership role responsible for the development and successful execution of indirect procurement strategies. The role focuses on leading strategic sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with global and regional program objectives, and continuously improving processes to achieve outstanding customer service and cost savings. The incumbent will oversee category management responsibilities including creating long-term enterprise-wide strategies, risk minimization, policy development, and performance monitoring of category spend to reduce total cost of ownership.
This role also demands managing formal market assessments through Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposals (RFP), and Requests for Quotes (RFQ), benchmarking cost standards against industry metrics, negotiating competitive pricing and enterprise-level benefits, and maintaining compliance with contracts and service level agreements. Building and sustaining strategic supplier relationships, conducting rigorous supplier performance evaluations, and leading business reviews on a quarterly or annual basis are key duties. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, leisure services management, supply chain management, or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience
- At least 3 years experience in commodity management, meetings and events, marketing, travel sourcing, or related roles
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and negotiate complex agreements
- Skilled in strategic sourcing from spend analysis to commodity strategy development
- Ability to collaborate with global leaders across multiple countries and time zones
- Knowledge of SAP or related procure-to-pay systems preferred
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Self-motivated with a focus on creativity, quality, and results
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Leisure Services Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Master's degree or MBA preferred
- 5+ years of work experience
- 3+ years' experience in Commodity Management, Meetings and Events, Marketing, Travel Sourcing, or related experience
- Demonstrated and successful experience in evaluating and negotiating complex agreements
- Experience performing strategic sourcing roles from spend analysis to commodity strategy creation and management
- Ability to work with leaders globally across different countries and time zones
- Experience with SAP or similar procure-to-pay platforms preferred
- Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Creative, self-motivated, quality and results-driven work ethic
Job Duties
- Lead and support the development of long-term enterprise-wide category strategies
- Identify and implement strategies that minimize or mitigate risk to PACCAR
- Create and maintain policies and procedures for assigned category
- Manage internal communication of category initiatives and reporting of results
- Monitor category spend and continuously evaluate options to reduce total cost of ownership
- Develop and issue formal market tests via Requests for Information, Proposals and Quotes (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs)
- Benchmark internal and external costs against industry and competitive standards
- Facilitate the execution and ongoing maintenance of LTAs, MSAs, and other commercial agreements
- Drive negotiations to deliver the most competitive pricing and enterprise-level benefits
- Provide support to divisions by aligning priorities and regional opportunities
- Build strategic supplier relationships
- Continuous evaluation and assessment of supplier performance
- Lead and manage quarterly and annual business reviews
- Ensure compliance to contracts and established service level agreements
- Collaborate and lead projects and work cross functionally with regional and global teams
- Drive and implement continuous process improvement activities
- Interface with all levels of management in all regions
