Job Description
Sifted is a dynamic and innovative food service company founded in 2015 by Kimberly Lexow and Jess Legge. The company emerged with a bold vision to transform office food into an experience grounded in hospitality, sustainability, and intentionality. Over the years, what started as a modern approach to workplace meals has evolved into a nationwide food platform that supports culture, community, and environmentally conscious choices across hundreds of companies. Unlike a traditional caterer, Sifted positions itself as a workplace food partner dedicated to delivering exceptional quality and thoughtful service. The team at Sifted is composed of hospitality professionals, culinary experts, technologists, and innovators who are passionate about building meaningful, stable, and opportunity-filled careers within the hospitality industry. This commitment to its people is evident in the fact that Sifted's employees stay with the company three times longer than the industry average.
Working at Sifted means joining a culture that embraces creative freedom—where every team member has the opportunity to contribute ideas and influence the future of the company’s service. Hospitality is at the core of the company’s mission, ensuring that everyone is engaged in serving others, which fosters a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Sifted also prioritizes career growth through internal mobility, mentorship, and hands-on learning, supporting employees every step of the way. The company fosters a people-first environment, promoting flexible work arrangements, celebrating achievements, and leading with empathy. Moreover, employees at Sifted make a real impact daily by reducing waste, improving lives, and connecting people through food.
The current opportunity available is for a full-time commissary operations team member based in Salt Lake City, working Sunday through Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm. This role is vital in ensuring that the food prepared in the commissary is properly packed, organized, labeled, and ready for delivery to clients on a daily basis. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20 and operates within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. It is ideal for individuals looking to grow in the food service or hospitality industry while working with a company that emphasizes quality, efficiency, food safety, and customer satisfaction.
In this role, the team member will perform a variety of essential duties, including packing and organizing prepared food, loading and staging items inside refrigerated trucks, and conducting audits to ensure all food meets quality and labeling standards. Specific attention is given to dietary accommodations such as pescatarian, vegan, and low-carb preferences, requiring accuracy and care. Additional responsibilities include conducting inventory of dietary items, assisting with the maintenance of commissary and storage areas, supporting light cleaning duties, and fostering effective communication with team members and leadership. The team member will regularly work in refrigerated environments and is expected to maintain physical stamina, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
This position requires the candidate to hold a State Food Handlers Card and be committed to upholding cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards. Sifted welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and is an equal opportunity employer, fostering an inclusive workplace where all individuals feel valued and supported. Employment at Sifted is at-will, contingent upon successful background and safety checks. Overall, this role at Sifted offers a unique combination of meaningful work, professional growth opportunities, and a supportive culture that embraces innovation and hospitality excellence.
