Job Description

Next is a distinguished restaurant recognized for its inventive and ever-evolving pre-fixe dining experiences, each crafted every four months to immerse guests in a unique culinary journey. This approach invites diners to explore new regions, themes, or historical moments through thoughtfully designed menus. One notable example is the Winter 2019 Silk & Spice menu, which featured dishes inspired by the spices and flavors found along historic trade routes connecting Asia, Northeast Africa, and Europe. Next has earned prestigious accolades including being named the Best New Restaurant in the U.S. by the James Beard Foundation in 2012 and receiving a Michelin Star, highlighting its commitment to excellence and innovation in the culinary world. Past menus have been equally celebrated, with themes such as Ancient Rome (2017), The Hunt (2012), and Alinea Retrospective (2018) showcasing the restaurant's creativity and mastery.

The role of Commis at Next is a vital position within the kitchen team, primarily focused on the preparation and production of food items, garnishes, and condiments. This role ensures that all food products maintain the highest quality standards and are ready for service. The role demands a proactive attitude in managing inventory, supporting chefs, and contributing to a positive workplace environment.
