Job Description

WAHVE is a pioneering company in the insurance industry dedicated to transforming the way seasoned insurance professionals transition into retirement. Recognizing the wealth of knowledge and experience that veteran insurance experts possess, WAHVE offers a unique opportunity to work from home, allowing professionals to maintain meaningful employment while enjoying the benefits of a flexible and balanced lifestyle. This innovative approach is designed to help experienced insurance practitioners 'retire from the office but not from work,' providing a seamless blend of continued professional engagement and personal well-being.

As a remote-focused organization, WAHVE collaborates with various insurance carriers, Managing General Agents (MGAs), and wholesale brokers to offer long-term assignments that leverage the extensive expertise of commercial lines insurance professionals. The company prides itself on creating a supportive and inclusive virtual work environment where experienced underwriters and assistants can contribute effectively while enjoying the flexibility to choose full-time or part-time schedules. With a strong emphasis on customer service excellence and preserving industry knowledge, WAHVE is committed to making a positive impact on both its clients and workforce.

The Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant or Associate Underwriter roles within WAHVE provide a demanding yet rewarding opportunity. These positions cover diverse commercial lines sectors including General Liability, Professional/Management Liability, Property, Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, Cyber, Inland Marine, Surety Bond, and Excess & Surplus lines. Employees in these roles are tasked with various underwriting support functions such as analyzing submission information with underwriters, coordinating quoting, binding and issuance processes, researching and applying relevant rates and policy forms, and issuing notices of cancellation or reinstatements. Maintaining superior relationships with underwriters, brokers, producers, and reinsurers is also a key component of these roles.

WAHVE is committed to attracting highly experienced professionals who bring with them a minimum of 25 years of full-time work experience and at least 10 recent years in Commercial Lines Property & Casualty insurance. This level of expertise not only ensures high-quality service delivery to WAHVE’s clients but also supports the company’s mission to conserve insurance industry knowledge while offering its workforce the flexibility and comfort of a remote workplace.

Candidates who join WAHVE benefit from a dynamic virtual team environment, health insurance based on eligibility, a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% match, and the elimination of office-related stress and commuting. The company empowers its employees to handpick assignments that align with their expertise and lifestyle preferences, promoting an enjoyable and sustainable work-from-home career path. Whether an individual desires to maintain a full-time schedule or a more flexible part-time arrangement, WAHVE caters to these needs with comprehensive company benefits and a dedicated leadership team focused on supporting its workforce.
