The role of Commercial HVAC Technician at Sodexo offers an exciting opportunity for skilled professionals who have a passion for maintaining and improving heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems in a commercial setting. This full-time position, based at the University of Saint Joseph location, provides a competitive pay range of $27 to $32 per hour and requires availability for varying work shifts, including days and flexible hours. As a Commercial HVAC Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and operational efficiency of HVAC systems. Your responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing various commercial HVAC equipment, conducting routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and replacing essential system components such as valves, motors, controls, and compressors.

Ideal candidates are individuals who are team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to promoting a healthy and safe working environment. Having at least one year of related experience and holding the appropriate certifications, including the minimum EPA CFC Universal Certificate, are essential for success in this role. Additional qualifications such as working knowledge of chilled water systems, variable air and refrigerant flow systems, and experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) will enhance your ability to perform effectively in this position. A valid driver's license is also required due to the nature of the duties.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year of related HVAC work experience
  • holds appropriate HVAC license or certification for city/state of work
  • EPA CFC Universal Certificate required
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to work varying shifts including days and hours
  • open availability preferred
  • physical ability to perform HVAC installation and maintenance tasks
  • adherence to safety protocols

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems
  • monitor HVAC systems and operations and ensure that routine preventive maintenance performs according to established schedules and standards
  • respond to hot and cold calls, then troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • check, repair and/or replace valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other functional components of the system
  • attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
