About the Role:
ABM is currently looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor specializing in Commercial HVAC to lead and oversee HVAC operations within assigned commercial facilities located in the Washington, DC market. This is a full-time role with a shift schedule from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, along with a rotating on-call schedule to support operational needs. The hourly pay for this position is $48, with final compensation determined based on the candidate's education, skills, experience, and regional market conditions. Eligible candidates may also have the opportunity to participate in a company incentive or bonus program.
The Operations Supervisor will play a critical leadership role, supervising a team of HVAC technicians and lead technicians while ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality HVAC services. The role demands strong hands-on expertise in commercial HVAC, with a focus on chillers and boilers as well as other complex systems such as AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, BAS, and central plant systems. The supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily HVAC operations including preventive maintenance, repairs, and emergency responses, while maintaining regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, local codes, and client standards.
In addition to technical oversight, the supervisor will manage labor resources, material use, and vendor performance, and utilize CMMS systems to track work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and key performance indicators. Effective communication with facility stakeholders and clients is also essential, serving as the primary HVAC contact to ensure client satisfaction and timely resolution of issues. Safety is paramount, and this role requires a leader who is organized, accountable, and safety-focused, capable of coaching and developing their team for optimal performance.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- HVAC certification
- minimum 5 years of progressive commercial HVAC experience
- 2 plus years in a supervisory, lead, or operations role
- demonstrated hands-on experience with commercial chillers and boiler systems
- experience with central plant operations and BAS-controlled environments
- proven ability to operate, troubleshoot, and oversee maintenance of chiller and boiler plants
- strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, life-safety, and local building codes
- proficiency with CMMS and operational reporting tools
- EPA universal certification required
- ability to pass pre-employment background screening and any client-specific clearance requirements
- valid driver’s license
